The city of Leicester, in central England, has survived an unexpected threat to its security - a crowd of zombies.
After the council admitted to a resident that it had no plan to deal with an invasion by the living dead, a group of horror movie fans decided to test the authorities' response with a zombie-style apocalypse through the city.
Word spread on the Facebook social network, and a flashmob groaned and stumbled towards the council building, bewildering shoppers as they went.
